How Thermage FLX® works ?
Collagen is a protein that is found throughout the body, accounting for approximately 30% of total protein content. It plays a critical role in maintaining the structure and elasticity of the skin. In the skin, collagen fibres form a network that helps to maintain the skin’s structure and prevent thinning, sagging and wrinkling. On average, it takes about three to four weeks for the body to produce new collagen. However, collagen synthesis in aged human skin may take up to twice as long as in young skin. As we age, the production and quality of collagen begins to decline, which leads to a loss of elasticity and support in the skin. It can also be exacerbated by environmental factors such as sun exposure and smoking, which can damage existing collagen fibres and decrease the production of new collagen.
