Introduction
Anti-wrinkle Injections are a safe, effective, non-invasive Cosmetic Injectable treatment to reduce and prevent fine lines. Made from a purified protein, it targets specific muscles in order to relax its function which in turn, softens and reduces the depth of expression lines, and prevent the formation of fine lines for up to 9 months. Common treated areas are forehead lines, glabellar and crow’s feet. Anti-Wrinkle Injectables can also be used to lift certain parts of the face and correct asymmetrical features.
Prior to the treatment
10 days prior to the treatment:
- Avoid taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Nuprin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, Fish oil, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort and high doses of vitamin E as these may cause increase risk of bleeding and bruising at the treated site(s). Regular multi-vitamin and Tylenol® is permitted (If not contraindicated)
- If you have any history of Herpes Simplex (cold sores) on your face, please inform us
You would not be considered a candidate for anti-wrinkle injection if you have any of the following:
- Myasthenia Gravis
- Allergy to Botulinum Toxin
- Neuromuscular disorder
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Allergy to human albumin
- Avoid exposure to the sun
24 hours prior to the treatment:
- Avoid alcoholic beverages as this can increase the risk for bleeding and bruising at the treated site(s)
- Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal creams in the area(s) to be treated
- Eat a small meal or a snack before your appointment
After the treatment
- For facial injection, keep the head upright and avoid touching the area(s) for at least 6 hours after the treatment
- Avoid heat exposure such as sunbed / sauna for at least 48 hours
- Avoid strenuous activities or vigorous exercise for 24 hours
- Avoid activities with high pressure such as diving and flying for 72 hours
- Avoid any form of facial treatment or massage
- Strictly no laser treatment for 2 weeks - Use SPF 50 daily.
