We provide traditional Chinese acupuncture and Western evidence based acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Acupuncture along with Western Medical Acupuncture are some of the most popular used therapies within the UK. Acupuncture is grounded in over 2000 years of history and is backed up by modern evidence-based research to treat a variety of conditions from headaches to menopausal problems. The concept of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture is to bring balance to the body.

Prior to the treatment

Wear comfortable clothing, Make sure you are not too full or too staving

During the treatment

When the needle penetrates the skin, it activates sensory receptors which send impulses to the spinal cord, which then branches off into 3 different areas: the spinal cord itself, the mid-brain, and the pituitary hypothalamic complex (the command centre for hormones).

After the treatment

Keep the treatment area clean and dry

Does accupunture hurt?
No, it doesn’t hurt, it will be dull, tingling feeling. Sometime you might feel sharp pain is the needle hit into the pore or capillary, which is harmless and it rarely happens. Whilst I am inserting the needles, if you feel the sharp pain, you should let me know, I will readjust it.
Is bruising normal? Does it mean anything?
No it’s not common, but it happens, depends on your skin type, how sensitive it is. When the needle hit the capillaries, it may cause the bruise, but there is nothing to worry about, it will clear eventually and feel free to cove by make up if it’s necessary.
Is acupuncture dangerous?
It could be dangerous, if the needles placed wrongly. Or unqualified acupuncturists may put you in the process but place the needle shallow, which means you are having placebo treatment, can be a waste of time and money
How often to do the treatment and how long need to do it?
Generally, it can be done 1-3 times/week depends on how severe the condition. The pain relief treatment has no certain number in total, you decide to finish the treatment when the pain is manageable enough for not coming back for more. If something chronic, you might need longer period of treatment to get longer effect.
